About Us

Auditing tools built by an auditor, for auditors.

A11y Ledger is a purpose-built accessibility audit management platform created out of a real need — not a boardroom brief. We know the work because we do the work.

Who We Are

We are accessibility professionals who got tired of forcing generic tools to fit a highly specialized workflow. A11y Ledger was built by someone who has sat through hundreds of WCAG audits, juggled client deliverables across spreadsheets, and spent more time managing data than actually auditing.

Today, A11y Ledger serves freelance auditors and accessibility agencies who need a single, reliable platform to manage clients, track WCAG issues, assign team members, and produce clear audit reports — all without reinventing the wheel for every engagement.

We are small by design. That keeps us focused on what matters: building the best audit management tool in the accessibility space.

What We Stand For

Our product decisions, our roadmap, and our design are all guided by a handful of core principles.

Accessibility Is a Right

We believe every person deserves equal access to the web. Accessibility isn't a checkbox — it's a fundamental commitment to inclusion.

Built for Professionals

Every feature in A11y Ledger was shaped by real audit work. We don't build for hypothetical workflows — we build for the audits you're running today.

Clarity Over Complexity

Accessibility audits are already complex. Your tooling shouldn't be. We keep the interface clean, focused, and out of your way.

Agencies & Teams First

From solo freelancers to growing accessibility agencies, A11y Ledger scales with your team. Role-based access and multi-client workspaces are built in from day one.

Continuous Improvement

WCAG evolves, and so do we. We keep criteria current and ship features driven by the real needs of accessibility professionals.

The Origin Story

Why We Built Accessibility Ledger

Like most tools worth building, A11y Ledger was born out of frustration. As a freelance accessibility auditor, I was conducting WCAG audits for clients across a range of industries — and every single engagement meant starting from scratch. New spreadsheet, new tabs, new formulas, new colour codes for severity, new columns for each WCAG success criterion.

The auditing itself was never the bottleneck. The tooling was. I was spending hours each week managing data, formatting reports, and hunting for issues I had logged three projects ago in a file I could no longer find. Generic project management tools helped somewhat, but they knew nothing about WCAG. They had no concept of a criterion, a conformance level, an affected element, or a remediation recommendation. I was always adapting the tool to the work instead of the tool adapting to me.

I started building A11y Ledger as an internal tool — something simple to track issues across client projects with WCAG criteria baked in. Over time it grew into a full workspace: client and project management, team assignment, structured issue logging, progress tracking, and audit reporting.

If you've ever exported a 600-row spreadsheet and called it an audit report, A11y Ledger was built for you.
